Anne Barton is a retired veterinarian and flight instructor. Born in Drumheller, Alberta, she grew up in Idaho, and now lives in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia where she is deeply involved with Habitat for Humanity and the Anglican Church, when she isn't riding her horse or curling.

Evil in Their Hearts

A group suspected of criminal activities has established a colony on the outskirts of town. Robin Carruthers, flight school operator, and Rev. Forsyth, the rector of the Anglican church, become embroiled in a controversy when a bus used by the colony to transport children crashes into a frozen lake. Two women from the colony seek help from Robin and Douglas. One is murdered and the other nearly so, and Robin's planes are sabotaged.

Robin suspects a problem student of being the saboteur, but she has no proof. If she is right and does nothing about it, she could lose her business and her life. If she is wrong and reports her suspicions, she could ruin the student's life. So she watches and waits.

The Devil Laughs

The congregation of st. Matthews Anglican church is rocked by the actions of a small group who want to get rid of the Rector, The Reverend Douglas Forsythe. But when a troublesome woman who was thought to be the leader of this group is murdered, the problems don't go away; instead they get worse.

Robin Carruthers, church member and owner of Red Robin Flying School, heads another group trying to identify the leader of the antagonists and save the Rector's reputation. As church treasurer, she also discovers that church funds are disappearing. Cat & Mouse

A woman is shot dead while looking for her dog in a woodlot below her house. But local vet, Dr. Erica Merrill, who heard the shot, and her boyfriend Clay Caldwell, a deputy sheriff, don't think the killing was an accident, but that the wrong person was accidentally shot.

When another attempt at murder is made, the police have two crimes with no suspects, and with no idea who was supposed to be murdered.

The killer is furious at having shot the wrong person, the first episode in a grisly game of cat and mouse, where one player tries to trap the other, who succeeds in evading the deadly traps until the final resolution, which Erica tries to prevent.

A Switch in Time
